Hi girls, happy new year to you all. I have been on my maternity leave for almost five years and I started to feel like getting crazy so I decided to improve languages. I continue in Spanish which is my hobby and I need to use more also English because I teach preschool English :D

Hi Gretchen, I believe you. First child is very difficult to get used to. For me it was, no love for first sight, it took me eight months to get feeling I love my daughter. But since then everything gets better and better. With second child we fight almost the whole year with siblings rivalry and I almost got crazy again. But now, everything is ok. What is the most important: always try to find some free time for yourself and some for husband :)

Hi Kačus, nice to meet you:-) I have started to learn Spanish a year ago. That was the time I realized that I have difficulty with saying my name and address through mobile. I wasn´t able to say anything more fluently :,( and I am talking about Czech language, not English :D My brain was like in the haze. But few weeks of new language and everything was ok :D

Ches :palec:
I will have it in my mind. Think this time is just before us. My baby doesn't speak well meanwhile:mrgreen: - just eu, egu, ao etc. and I try to keep my vocabulary (at least in Czech :P )

So learning languages is your hobby?

Hocus and Lotus:)

Hello:) Does anybody have experience with languages and children? I have a daughter, she is 4 years old and she learns English :) I am really excited, because she can say also some few sentences and she learns language with a really interesting method called Hocus and Lotus…does anybody know this method? :))

Hello Carolina, it sounds interesting. I also teach English in group of children from 3-6, it´s Go Kids English with Montessori components. My children are happy and me too, it is fun for all of us and they really learn easily. According to Montessori method, child´s brain up to 6 years is like a mushroom, it is called Absorbent mind and children absorb everything. Today we started with maths and they were really happy that they are like „schoolers“. Now I really believe that it has sense to teach also small children foreign languages. By the way it has been scientifically proven, that it increases density of grey brain cortex and later on these bilingual children learn easier Czech language as well, they have better focus on subjects and so on. So just continue:-)

Hi, I have never heard about this kind of education :) That is really true, their brains are amazing. I am jealous, because for me its not so easy to learn something :) What I love on Hocus and Lotus is the story. Every lesson is based on story :) They play theatre using gestures, then they sing a song about the same story, then read the book (comics with pictures) and then watch the story (fairy tale) :) My girl really loves the main characters Hocus and Lotus (little dinocrocs) :D and can I ask you how it is running during your lessons? :)

 I planning to open these lesson for childrens 0-3 years which is english Babysings as mothers could also learn something:-)My lesson starts with 10min adaptation, children work with Montessori tools to increase their sensomotor skills, then song, repetition of previous vocab, then motion activity with parachute or scraves on music, I give them commands and they do it with all body (swim, lay down, fly, walk etc.) and I can chech if they understand me, it is big fun for them, then new vocab served according to Montessori principles (three phase lesson etc.) for example we finished geometric shapes and solids and now we started with counting. So these lessons are not based only on English but also on other subject that will be useful especially for those who will go to school this year. If there is some word like square- child can see it, hear it, touch it or show it with all his body. And we also sing and dance a lot because it´s fun for them and again they practise vocab through the songs :D

Hello everybody, I would like to join, if possible. I am also English teacher, but nothing as interesting as chesneymonkey is describing. I teach in „usual“ primary school, children 12 - 15 years old…
