Life in UK

Sorry for writing this in English.

This goes for those who live/lived in UK. I'm asking it in English, because my Czech is not so good, also, my question is related to England and those who lived there before, can answer few questions would be great! Many thanks in advance and here it goes:

How long did you live in UK and which city? How is life compared to Czech republic?

Would you plan to stay for long there?

What do you like/dislike there?

Could you please share your experiences in general?

Was moving easy/hard, how did you do it?

Couple of years isn't long enough:)
So to answer your question, I have been living in the UK for about 10 years. I moved a lot though. I used to live in London, Cambridge, Cumbria and I now live in Leeds.
I think the life here is easier than in the CZ. I find people here more open minded as well. We are probably staying here for good. Don't worry about moving, if you have managed to move from India you will be fine:)

Thanks for the prompt reply Loki. So you are from Czech? I've heard good things about Leeds…Do you live with family/children there? We have a small daughter, who is small yet for any school so still moving is doable. How had you arrange the moving? Did you hire some agency/car? Or sold off whatever furniture etc and started completely new there? What would you recommmend? Looks like you had some experience with moving! Sorry if asking too many questions. We got so some stuff and also more after having baby, most of it will be giving away but the remaining, if you or someone can recommend any moving company would be great. Though I am thinking its probably not there, most of them do in-Czech moving and not international. Thanks again for your replies. Ali-Ali, I'' just messaged you…

Yeah, I am from Czech.
I didnt actually move with my family, I was bit of a loner and did it by myself. I have started my family here in Leeds so cant really comment on anything to do with moving. I only packed a back and left:)
Loads of people however send a husband to get a house, job etc and mum with a child follows afterwards. I suppose it makes sense and you would probably feel safer knowing he is already set.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind. Do you miss Czech? Just asking, is it hard for someone who is from here, to form a community or get adapted to UK life? What changes did you experience?
