Hello everyone

Hello, is still anybody here who wants to change some English words? I am a selflearner who have been trying to learn English despite the fact there is no learning progress on my side. I unfortunately do some mistakes on daily basis, but that is the one I wanted to get better. Fluent speaking is that I gave up many years ago, but the hope dies last and I still hope I will be able to understand written texts and explain in a correct form everything I need to. Thanks in advance and beatiful night

Not that bad. But you use Czech in English, if you know what I mean. My brother makes the same mistake, he translates everything like Czech would say it, not English, and makes it harder, longer instead say it shorter and simple. You have to watch movies, programs in English. That’s the best way to learn.

@Lenka76

Yeah, I use Czech English, but how to change it into natural English? I do not like sitcoms, nor movies. I sometimes watch youtube (pc reviews), but I seldom understand anything. Better is something with subtitles…
I often read discussions, but other user's English does not „fit“ me… Proste bych to rekl jinak a ne tak jako oni a mam problemy porozumet, prijde mi to divne a neprirozene :zed:

Stop worrying. You are understood, that's good enough. ;)

You can read books. Your English is good, try to take it to another level!
It’s very hard to learn English in Czech. Try to find a person for conversation.

I second Lenka76, If you want to improve your English, you have to use it constantly.The more you use it, the better you get. Ideally, you need to use English at least 30% of time, that means stop watching tv in Czech, stop reading in Czech. Instead of reading idnes, read bbc. You want to learn new thing, for example wordpress? Learn from English resources. You will see that with time your English will improve. I learned English only by using it, I have never used a text book. Now I am learning Spanish, which I started studing from text book and then moved to Spain where I am actively using it. I discovered that after achieving B2 level, text books are not much useful to me. I now prefer just reading news in Spanish, talking to my friends, watching tv…
