Hi there :mavam: Do you all live in the Czech Republic? My grammar is not great, but I'm working on it- endlessly (read-for yeeears!) Speaking has improved a lot, since I'm living in UK, but I'm still not good enough if I may say so.

@Ge Your advantage is that you're living in the English speaking country. Where exactly are you living? I love Scotland, Highlands and surroundings :-)

@Lizzi Midlands- near Warwick. Would not like to live in Scotland right now… pretty grim there. You are right, it is an advantage :D When I came over here, I thought that my english was not bad. Embarassing mistake that was! :P And you?

Do you know song „Warwick Avenue“ from Dufy? Why grim? Because of weather or politic situation?

Don't start with apologies for your language level, chances are you know more English than the other side knows Czech.

And I still make mistakes, forget a word - and I am married to an American since 1994.

No, I don't, but will listen to it :palec: Grim for both reasons, but right now for the weather and floods.

@Ge

We live in Northern Virginia, near Warrenton. Our county is still mostly farms and country life but suburbs from DC are creeping in slowly and inevitably; we prefer the country but enjoy the comfort of stores and accesibility of the city/suburbs.

@Ge I have been always living in CZ. My best English knowledge level was just after studies. Since then its getting worse and worse. I had an English boss until last year but his English was too influenced by living in CZ. Now I am on the maternity leave and have hardly any contact with English natives. So I would be more than happy to practice my English at least in this internet discussion.

Hello there, can I join you? :) I used to be quite good in English but because of almost 4 years on the maternity leave I have forgotten too much. I've started to visit English course on September and I hope I will improve.

@Ge Oh those floods, it's terrible! We used to go to the Scotland every summer holiday to pick raspberries and after that to Edinburgh to the Fringe festival. Fabulous event!
@KalamityJohn Hi across the ocean :mavam: I was looking at the Google Earth at the city Warrenton and it's pretty nice :-) I like those colonial wodden houses with big portch around :-)
