Hi girls, this is a great idea and would love to join you as well ;-) my name is Andrea and I have two kids, 8 (girl) and 6 (boy), so working already few years… I work in DHL so I do speak English every day but as we have many nationalities, you dont hear "proper" English so often and of course you dont have anyone who would help you with the grammar or correct you :-)

@terinka4444 OSVC = self-employed

Hi girls, I am Denisa, currently living in Brno but thinking of moving back to UK where I lived for four years. I have 2 years old son who is at home with me but as I am more and more thinking about returning back to work he will probably start going to nursery soon.

Hi Girls! Finally great idea! Currently I am also on maternity leave, I have 2 years old son. During past days I have a feeling, that every day is still the same. Maybe it is caused by the weather, the winter omnipresent illnesses etc.
I worked for one Czech company and with English was in contact everyday. I agree, that once you do not use language, skills are getting worse.

Hello everyone!
I am over 35 and have been on maternity leave for almost 5 years. On 2016 I am going to return to the working process. My profession is an civil servant. Presently for some time I am trying to push myself starting with English repeating but I am not successfull :mrgreen: The main reason is that I cannot find the way of learning which I would enjoy…

Yay, I forgot to introduce myself :D I live in a small village with my fiance and 15 months old son. I'm on maternity leave, of course, but I'm unemployed, because I got pregnant during the last year of my studies. I graduated in June and my son was born in November, so it was impossible for me to find a job :/ I recently got an incredible job opportunity and although it's gonna be hectical, I am seriously considering that I'm gonna accept it.

@tweedy Hi! You would work in UK, than? Or here? I consider to „leave“ :mrgreen: my son in nursery at his age of two, do you think that your son will make it? Where do you see pros and cons?
@Štrumfeta don't even try to tell me that aaall days are the same. They aren't! You can choose whether you'll drink tea or coffee in the morning! :mrgreen:

@RoseK well, it is a bit complicated. My son was born in UK and when he was 8 months we (my husband and I) decided to move to Czech and try it here because we wanted him to know my family well. We have been living here for about year and half now but we are constantly considering going back to England. But as we are still here and probably will be for another twelve months or so I have started thinking about returning to work. My son attends nursery once a week and he loves it so hopefully there won't be a problem with transferring to all-day nursery…

@tweedy :think: what a decision to make. :mrgreen: What do you miss the most and why you want to come back to England, anyway? Wouldn't you miss your family again? :think:

@tweedy If I were you, I would definitely return to England. It is an unbelievable opportunity, especially if you have friends and acquaintances there. I am afraid that Czech Republic is not going anywhere, you can always visit ;)

@Štrumfeta Hi and welcome :) I have the same feeling like you have… all days are similar, even though I am trying to do some diffrent things. I think it is mainly caused by the weather and I hope that coming of spring will make things better.
@RoseK And which university did you study? And what about your job…are you going to use your English there? Your language is great :)

Ladies, what happened to you? This thread completely died after 5 pages :) Too bad it was not a discussion about welfare, that would go on for ages :lol: What's everyone doing this fine evening?

@zzuza thanks, but there are definitely some things I need to work on. I studied Masaryk university and yes, I am going to use the language in my future job, because I am English teacher :)
